NAGARHOLE

Situated in the districts of Mysore and Coorg, the Nagarahole tiger reserve is truly an enchanting place. Spanning across an area of 700 sq km, Nagarahole is home to many rare species of flora and fauna. Having an excellent forest cover and prey base, Nagarahole forms a perfect place for the elusive and endangered tigers and leopards to thrive and grow safely. It is also home to the extremely rare Black Panther or the Melanistic leopard. Having visited this place for the first time in the winters of January 2018, I’ve been fortunate enough to sight many bold tigers, beautiful leopards and also the Black panther himself. I also reminisce witnessing an extremely rare moment of a sloth bear chasing a tigress and also many more.
